Jason Parker, a USANA Builder from Calgary, Alberta, has been chosen to represent Canada in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. The Olympic athlete will be competing with the Canadian speed skating squad in team pursuit, a new Olympic event.
“The team pursuit has been a really strong event for us this year. It’s one of our best medal shots out of the three distances and it should be a blast,” Jason says. “After twenty years of speed skating, it’s nice to finish off my last year with this opportunity. There has been a lot of adversity, but now it’s all worthwhile.”
Competing in the Olympics is an achievement that Jason partially credits to USANA. Before enrolling eight years ago, Jason would often spend most of the speed skating season sick with colds or the flu. He found it was especially severe after competitions. Jason finally knew he had to make a change when he missed out on making the 1998 Olympic team due to illness. That’s when he started up with USANA and he’s been working his business and taking the products ever since.
“The products have been so amazing!” Jason exclaims. “I am able to maintain my health much better than ever before! I know that I definitely wouldn’t be heading to Turin for the Olympics had I not found USANA. It is kind of funny how missing the Olympics the first time allowed me to find USANA, and eight years later, I have never missed a single day taking the USANA products!”
Jason plans on getting through the Olympics by drinking his special shakes made from Nutrimeal, SoyaMax, OptOmega, Fibergy, and fruit, and by eating USANA’s Nutrition and Fibergy Bars. “After the Olympics are over, I will be back as an active part of the USANA family again and I can’t wait,” Jason assures. “But until then, I have one last big goal to achieve in my speed skating career! Thanks again to everyone and I look forward to seeing you all soon at the upcoming events!”
Be sure to tune into the Winter Olympics February 15-16 to cheer for Jason and team Canada. Please join USANA in wishing them the best of luck in their race for the Gold!
